Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of katado.app and the Katado app (“Katado”, “we”, “us”), operated by Daniel Cheng. By using Katado you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Katado.
The service
Katado is a free workout logging web app. We provide it on an ongoing best-effort basis and may change, add, or discontinue features. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country), or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use Katado.
Your account and data
Katado starts you in an anonymous session; you may optionally sign in with Google, or with a code sent to your email address, to sync across devices. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, your email account, and your Katado account. Your workout data is yours — see the Privacy Policy for how to export or delete it.
Publishing and public profiles
Nothing you log is public unless you publish it. If you choose to, you claim a handle and may share workouts or templates. What you publish is public: anyone with the link can read it, and other users can copy a published template into their own training log.
You keep ownership of what you publish. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it within Katado for as long as it stays published, and you grant other users the right to copy a published template into their own log. You can unpublish at any time — that removes it from Katado, but copies others already made stay with them.
You are responsible for what you publish. Do not publish anything that:
- you do not have the right to share, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- impersonates another person, coach, or brand — including through your handle or display name;
- is unlawful, deceptive, or abusive; or
- presents itself as medical, clinical, or rehabilitative instruction.
We may remove published content, reclaim or retire a handle, or withdraw publishing access where these terms are breached. Profiles marked “By Katado” are run by us; every other profile is run by the user behind it, and we do not endorse or vet what they publish.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Katado for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to break, overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its data;
- reverse-engineer or misuse the service or interfere with other users.
Not medical or professional advice
Katado logs training and offers general progression suggestions based on the numbers you enter. It is not medical, health, or professional fitness advice. Resistance training carries a risk of injury. Consult a qualified professional before starting or changing a training program, and stop if you feel unwell or experience pain. You train at your own risk.
This applies equally to anything published on Katado by other users or by our own accounts. A shared workout or template is a record of one person’s training, not a prescription for yours; no one who publishes on Katado is thereby your coach or clinician, and we do not review published training for safety or suitability.
Intellectual property
The Katado app, its design, and its content are owned by the operator. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Katado for your own training. Your workout data remains yours, including anything you publish — subject to the licence described under “Publishing and public profiles” above.
Third-party services
Sign-in and infrastructure rely on third parties — Google (sign-in), Supabase (database, authentication, and sign-in emails), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Cloudflare (bot protection on account creation) — each with its own terms.
Disclaimers
Katado is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — please keep your own backups of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any injury or loss arising from your training or use of Katado. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including certain consumer rights). Because Katado is provided free of charge, any aggregate liability is limited accordingly.
Termination
You may stop using Katado at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached or to protect the service or its users.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will revise the date above, and continued use of Katado after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
